Stingrays are so named for the long serrated poisonous spine in the tail used for defense. The Sting is not deadly to humans, however it is intensely painful. Photographed in Turks and Caicos Islands.

Really cool shot. Love it - though Steve Irwin might disagree about the not deadly to humans statement. Though not usually deadly to humans, a shot of venom to the heart can prove to be the exception.
